Bindery Assistant

TSG - The Sheridan Group seeks a detail-oriented Bindery Assistant to support production of high-impact advocacy and communications materials. You will operate and monitor bindery equipment to fold, trim, collate, and finish printed pieces, following precise job specs and quality standards. Working closely with a small, collaborative team, you'll help prepare and package materials for delivery on tight deadlines. This role offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced public affairs environment with strong mentorship and opportunities to grow technical production skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate bindery equipment to assemble, trim, fold, and finish printed communications materials to specification
• Review job tickets and proofs to ensure accuracy, quality standards, and timely completion of client projects
• Set up, adjust, and perform basic maintenance on bindery machines, coordinating with vendors or technicians as needed
• Package, label, and prepare finished materials for delivery, ensuring correct quantities and documentation
• Collaborate with account and production teams to prioritize workloads and meet tight campaign and advocacy deadlines
• Maintain organized work areas, inventory of bindery supplies, and accurate production records
