Commercial Insurance Claims Representative

Sentry Insurance is seeking a Claims Representative to handle commercial and business insurance claims from first notice through resolution. In this role, you will investigate coverage, gather statements and documentation, evaluate liability and damages, and negotiate fair settlements while delivering responsive, empathetic service to our business policyholders. You'll work closely with underwriters, legal, and risk management teams to ensure accurate, compliant claim handling. Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of commercial and business insurance claims from first notice to closure
• Investigate claims by obtaining statements, records, and other supporting documentation
• Analyze policy language to determine coverage, liability, and compensability
• Evaluate damages and develop fair, timely settlement recommendations
• Negotiate settlements with claimants, insureds, and third parties within authority limits
• Document all claim activity accurately in claims management systems
• Collaborate with underwriters, legal, and risk management teams on complex files
• Ensure compliance with internal guidelines, regulations, and industry standards
• Communicate clearly and professionally with policyholders, agents, and vendors
• Identify potential fraud indicators and escalate as appropriate
