• Manage ESXi 8.x/9.x hosts: oversee hypervisor installations and upgrades, networking and storage (vSAN, SAN, datastores, LUNs), host profiles, lockdown modes, and coordinate physical racking/hardware upgrades for new projects and tech refreshes. • Administer vSAN 8.x/9.x hyper-converged infrastructure (OSA/ESA): manage storage policies, encryption, KMS, file services, and fault tolerance. • Provide technical support for Cisco UCS (B, C, X Series, UCS Mini), Cisco HyperFlex, and Dell PowerEdge hardware platforms. • Provision and manage virtual machines across VMware, Microsoft Azure, AWS, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, and Google Cloud Platform: perform OVF/OVA deployments, snapshots, migrations, cloning, template management, and performance tuning. • Support DLA cloud infrastructure (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS): enable dynamic provisioning, optimize costs (identify idle/over-provisioned resources, manage Reserved Instances, leverage savings plans), and implement continuous monitoring with automated alerts. • Support VMware Aria Suite (Automation, Orchestrator, Operations-including Logs and Networks, Suite Lifecycle) and VMware Cloud Foundation to deliver integrated management and operational efficiency. • Automate routine tasks using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles, PowerShell, Python, YAML templates, and API calls; ensure all scripts are maintained in the shared DLA team repository for collaboration and version control. • Perform and document daily system health checks; categorize anomalies by severity and escalate per DLA protocols. • Manage ServiceNow incidents, tickets, change requests, and work orders in the J64 Virtualization Platform Services queue, ensuring prompt resolution within DLA performance thresholds. • Ensure ESXi hosts, vCenter, and supporting applications comply with DISA STIGs and DLA Information Assurance requirements; proactively monitor logs for anomalies and rapidly remediate vulnerabilities. • Provide mission-critical outage support, coordinating vendor case management from incident initiation through resolution. • Participate in after-hours callback rotation, remain reachable by phone, and deliver support within two hours as required. • Attend required staff and project meetings; provide on-the-job and formal training to DLA staff as needed. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Minimum of seven (7) years' progressive experience managing and maintaining virtualized server environments and hosted applications. At least two (2) of those years must include direct management of large-scale, multi-disciplinary projects (e.g., network, virtualization, systems administration) involving virtual servers. Completed Tier 5 / SSBI investigation for High Risk, Critical Sensitive (IT-I) designation Active SECRET security clearance (or higher). Current DoD 8570/8140 baseline certification at IAT Level II or higher (e.g., Security+ CE, CySA+, GSEC, SSCP, CND, GICSP; IAT Level III certifications such as CASP+ or CISSP are also accepted). Computing Environment certification: DoD 8570/8140-approved VMware certification (VCP-DCV 2020 or newer, or VCAP 2020 or newer).
