Job Description
BJC HealthCare is seeking a dedicated Clinical Nurse to join our team on a part-time night shift. In this role, you will provide high-quality, compassionate care, perform assessments, administer treatments, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to improve patient outcomes. Based within our Healthcare & Medical Services department, you will uphold our commitment to safety, ethical practice, and clinical excellence. Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a part-time night shift, including assessments, monitoring, and ongoing evaluation of patient conditions in an acute care setting.
- Administer medications, treatments, and therapies safely and accurately, following physician orders and hospital policies.
- Develop, implement, and update individualized plans of care, documenting all interventions and patient responses in the electronic health record.
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Recognize and respond to changes in patient status, escalating care and initiating appropriate interventions in a timely manner.
- Perform bedside nursing procedures such as IV therapy, wound care, catheter care, and safe patient mobility and transfers.
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, medications, procedures, and discharge instructions to support understanding and adherence.
- Adhere to infection prevention, patient safety, and quality standards, participating in initiatives to improve outcomes and patient satisfaction.
- Participate in shift handoffs, team huddles, and communication processes to ensure continuity and clarity of care plans across shifts.
- Maintain professional licensure and required certifications, engage in ongoing education, and support evidence-based practice initiatives within the unit.
