Instrumentation & Controls Engineer - Manufacturing

PCT - Pacific Cast Technologies, a PCC Structurals company, seeks a Facilities Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to design, maintain, and improve plant control systems for advanced metal casting operations. You will support furnaces, heat-treat, and auxiliary equipment; program and troubleshoot PLCs and HMIs; specify sensors and instrumentation; and ensure system reliability, safety, and regulatory compliance. Partner with maintenance, production, and engineering to drive root-cause analysis, implement process automation upgrades, and support continuous improvement in a highly technical, precision manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, and maintain PLC, HMI, and related control systems for furnaces, heat-treat, and facility equipment
• Specify, install, and calibrate sensors, instrumentation, and control hardware
• Troubleshoot control and instrumentation issues to minimize downtime and improve reliability
• Develop and maintain electrical and control system documentation, including schematics and drawings
• Collaborate with maintenance, production, and engineering on root-cause analysis and corrective actions
• Lead or support automation and controls upgrade projects to enhance safety, quality, and throughput
• Ensure compliance with applicable electrical, safety, and environmental standards and codes
• Support continuous improvement, standardization, and best practices for plant control systems
