Renewable Natural Gas Project Engineer

Suburban Propane is seeking a Renewable Natural Gas professional to help grow our low carbon energy portfolio. In this role, you will coordinate RNG projects from concept through operations, working with internal teams, external partners, and regulatory agencies. You'll monitor plant performance, ensure safety and environmental compliance, and identify opportunities to optimize production and reliability. This position blends hands on technical oversight with data analysis, vendor management, and customer-focused communication, supporting our commitment to safe, reliable, and sustainable energy.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate renewable natural gas (RNG) projects from planning through operations.
• Monitor RNG facility performance, analyzing data to improve output, reliability, and efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and utility regulations and internal standards.
• Support design, commissioning, and optimization of RNG and gas-handling systems.
• Manage relationships with vendors, contractors, and external project partners.
• Prepare technical reports, performance summaries, and compliance documentation.
• Collaborate with operations, safety, and commercial teams to integrate RNG into existing services.
• Identify and evaluate new RNG opportunities and technologies for Suburban Propane's portfolio.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost control for RNG projects.
• Provide technical guidance and training to field and operations staff as needed.
