Senior R&D Project Manager

Abbott Laboratories seeks a Senior Project Manager in its R&D Project & Portfolio Management Office to lead complex, cross-functional development programs in biotechnology and pharmaceuticals. You will own project planning, scheduling, and risk management, aligning global stakeholders across R&D, quality, regulatory, and operations. This role drives governance, portfolio reporting, and decision-making, ensuring milestones, budgets, and compliance requirements are met. You'll mentor teams, champion best-practice methodologies, and help shape an inclusive, mission-driven culture focused on innovation and advancing life-changing healthcare solutions worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex R&D projects within the PPMO from concept through commercialization
• Develop and manage integrated project plans, timelines, and budgets
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues
• Coordinate cross-functional teams across R&D, regulatory, quality, and operations
• Prepare and present portfolio and project status reports to senior leadership
• Ensure adherence to regulatory, quality, and compliance requirements
• Facilitate governance reviews and support data-driven decisions
• Mentor team members on project management best practices and tools
