Lead HVAC Controls & Building Automation Technician

Johnson Controls is seeking an HVAC Controls Systems Technician Team Leader to guide a field team delivering smart, sustainable building solutions. In this role you will lead installation, programming, commissioning and service of HVAC control and building automation systems in commercial and industrial facilities. You will coordinate schedules and resources, ensure strict safety and quality standards, and serve as a key customer contact. Using Johnson Controls' innovative technologies, you'll diagnose system issues, optimize performance, document work, and mentor technicians while contributing to continuous improvement and global sustainability goals in a collaborative, technology-driven culture.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of HVAC controls technicians on installation, commissioning and service projects
• Program, configure and troubleshoot building automation and control systems
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality and Johnson Controls standards on all jobs
• Coordinate schedules, resources and materials to meet project timelines and budgets
• Interface with customers to assess needs, resolve issues and communicate project status
• Perform diagnostics on HVAC control systems and implement corrective actions
• Document work performed, system configurations and updates in service systems
• Collaborate with engineering, project management and manufacturing teams on solutions
• Train junior technicians on controls, tools, and best practices
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and adoption of smart building technologies
