Design Engineer II

The Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer develops wire harnesses, cables, mounting brackets, and tractor electrical routing solutions from concept to release. Working in a hybrid model, this role collaborates with electrical, mechanical, and vehicle architecture teams to create integrated designs, produce installation drawings, support engineering releases, and assist with prototype builds. It also investigates field issues and warranty claims to identify root causes and implement corrective design improvements.

Responsibilities

• Develop wire harness, cable, bracket, and electrical mounting solutions per standards and best practices.
• Create installation drawings for harness routing, electrical components, and associated bracketry.
• Coordinate with electronics, mechanical, and vehicle architecture teams for integrated tractor designs.
• Complete engineering releases for assigned electrical systems to meet program milestones.
• Investigate field issues and warranty claims, identify root causes, and implement design corrections.
• Support procurement and installation of parts and provide hands-on assistance during prototype builds.
• Conduct design reviews and incorporate cross-functional feedback to support industrialization.
