Hybrid & Electric Bus Field Service Technician

As a Field Service Bus Technician, you will travel to transit agency sites around the Boston metro area to diagnose, repair, and maintain hybrid and electric buses and other transit vehicles. You will perform warranty, retrofit, and acceptance work using electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills, from advanced computer diagnostics to basic tools. The role works largely independently while keeping customers informed and documenting issues, repairs, and solutions to support safe, reliable fleet operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform warranty, retrofit, and acceptance work on hybrid and electric buses at customer sites.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical issues on transit vehicles using diagnostic software and tools.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and safety checks on transit vehicles to keep fleets operational.
• Communicate clearly with customers and property staff about work performed, findings, and next steps.
• Document diagnostics, repairs, parts used, and service recommendations accurately and promptly.
• Travel daily to multiple job sites within the Boston metro area as assigned.
• Follow all safety procedures and use appropriate PPE while working on high-voltage and mechanical systems.
