Manufacturing Engineer - Water Heater & Treatment Manufacturing

A. O. Smith seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to design, optimize, and support production of residential and commercial water heaters and treatment products. In this performance-driven, safety-focused environment, you will develop and improve manufacturing processes, implement lean and continuous improvement initiatives, and drive root cause problem solving to improve quality, safety, and throughput. You will collaborate with design, quality, and operations teams on new product introductions, specify equipment and tooling, and provide hands-on support on the plant floor, helping advance innovative, energy-efficient water solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and improve manufacturing processes for water heaters and treatment products
• Implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce waste
• Create and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and standard operating procedures
• Analyze production data to resolve quality issues and drive root cause corrective actions
• Collaborate with design, quality, and operations teams on new product introductions and process changes
• Specify, select, and support installation of production equipment and tooling
• Support safety initiatives and ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards
• Provide technical support and training to production teams on processes and equipment
