Medical Assistant

Intermountain Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support our Urology team. In this patient-facing role, you'll room patients, obtain vitals and medical histories, prepare exam rooms and instruments, and assist providers with urologic procedures. You'll administer medications and injections per protocol, perform basic lab tests and specimen collection, manage EHR documentation, and coordinate scheduling, referrals, and insurance-related tasks. The MA collaborates closely with nurses, providers, and front office staff to ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate care aligned with our mission-driven culture.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, obtain vitals, and collect medical histories for urology visits
• Prepare exam rooms, supplies, and instruments for urologic procedures
• Assist providers with exams, minor procedures, and specimen collection
• Administer medications and injections per protocol and provider orders
• Perform basic lab tests, urinalysis, and handle specimens safely
• Document care accurately in the electronic health record (EHR)
• Coordinate scheduling, referrals, and prior authorizations
• Support front-office tasks including check-in and patient flow management
• Provide patient education on pre- and post-procedure instructions
• Collaborate with clinical team to support quality and safety initiatives
