Industrial Plant Maintenance Technician - Construction Materials

Knife River is seeking a Plant Maintenance Technician to keep our construction materials plant running safely and efficiently. You will inspect, troubleshoot, and repair crushers, conveyors, mixers, and related equipment, performing mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical maintenance. Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, welding and fabrication repairs, equipment adjustments, and accurate maintenance documentation. You'll work closely with a safety-focused, team-oriented crew, support critical infrastructure projects, and gain hands-on training and opportunities for long-term career growth.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair plant equipment including crushers, conveyors, and mixers
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and lubrication on machinery
• Conduct mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical repairs
• Perform welding and light fabrication on guards, chutes, and structural components
• Document maintenance activities and report equipment issues promptly
• Follow all company and OSHA safety procedures and participate in safety meetings
• Collaborate with plant operators and supervisors to minimize downtime
• Assist with equipment installations, adjustments, and upgrades
