Steam Turbine Engineer Specialist

The Senior Steam Turbine Engineer Specialist leads inspection, maintenance, and outage planning for utility-scale steam turbines across Calpine's fleet. This role oversees OEM and third party vendors, verifies capital parts, evaluates test and inspection data, and recommends repairs and maintenance strategies. The position emphasizes safety, detailed technical reporting, and continuous improvement, working remotely with travel to power plant sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead safe inspection, maintenance, and outage execution for steam turbines across the fleet
• Supervise OEM and third party vendors to ensure safety, quality, and cost effective work
• Verify and document capital part serial numbers for accurate tracking and budgeting
• Analyze vendor test and inspection data to inform maintenance and repair decisions
• Prepare detailed outage and shift turnover reports to support operational continuity
• Develop and refine maintenance strategies, inspection techniques, and repair methods
• Guide technical teams performing specialized steam turbine repairs and maintenance
• Coordinate outage scopes, schedules, and vendor quotes to meet time and budget constraints
