Head of Landscape Management

Location: London, E14 6DA

Salary: £51,099 - £54,135 per annum

Hours: 35 hours per week.

Our client is an award-winning housing association. They have a national reputation for their innovative approach to urban and social regeneration.

The Role

They are looking for a Head of Landscape Management to be responsible for:

  • Managing all aspects of the maintenance of the green infrastructure within Poplar HARCA Estates.
  • Developing and delivering landscape improvement projects within the budget of the Landscape
  • Management Department.
  • Managing the Landscape Management Departments budgets and ensure value for money, competitive purchasing and accountability for expenditure.
  • Work to ensure the provision of an efficient and effective landscape management service.
  • To ensure that Landscape Maintenance Department staff issues are identified, addressed and resolved in line with Poplar HARCA procedures.
  • Liaise with all other departments within Poplar HARCA to ensure the goals of the Landscape Management Department are transparent and understood.
  • Work proactively with the Assistant Director of Estate Services in the procurement of new landscaping business and project manage external contracts.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Professional Qualifications in Landscape Maintenance and Tree Management.
  • PA1 and PA6 certification
  • And/or comparable equivalent qualification or demonstrable experience and expertise.
  • Ability to manage, supervise and demonstrate:-
    • A comprehensive herbicide programme.
    • A comprehensive machinery and equipment maintenance programme.
    • A comprehensive vehicle management system
    • Experience of managing staff within a land based industry discipline.
    • Experience of identifying, addressing and resolving staff issues.
    • Experience of successfully managing change in the workplace affecting staff members
    • Biodiversity Action Plans and Implementation (desirable).
    • Country side and Rights of Way Act and duties and responsibilities in relation to the act (desirable).
