SME Systems and Network Engineer

GovCIO LLC seeks an SME Systems and Network Engineer to design, implement, and secure complex enterprise environments for federal customers. You will architect and maintain Windows/Linux servers, virtualized and cloud infrastructures, routing/switching, and network security solutions. Responsibilities include performance tuning, automation, incident resolution, and continuity planning. You'll collaborate with agile teams, mentor junior engineers, document standards, and ensure compliance with federal security and reliability requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure systems and network architectures for federal customers.
• Administer and optimize Windows/Linux servers, virtualization, and cloud infrastructures.
• Configure and maintain routing, switching, and network security technologies.
• Automate routine tasks and support infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot incidents, and drive root-cause resolution.
• Ensure compliance with federal security, governance, and continuity standards.
• Collaborate with agile delivery teams on modernization and migration projects.
• Document architectures, standards, runbooks, and change records.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide SME guidance to stakeholders.
• Support on-call and after-hours maintenance windows as needed.
