Hazardous Materials Technician - Environmental Services

As a Hazmat Technician at GFL Environmental, you will handle, package, and transport hazardous and non-hazardous materials in compliance with OSHA, DOT, and EPA regulations. You will respond to spills, perform site cleanup and decontamination, and operate specialized equipment and vehicles. Working in a safety-first, team-oriented environment, you'll complete inspections, maintain accurate documentation, and use proper PPE to protect yourself and others. Responsibilities

• Handle, package, and label hazardous and non-hazardous materials per OSHA, DOT, and EPA regulations
• Respond to spills and emergencies, performing safe containment, cleanup, and decontamination
• Operate material handling and decontamination equipment and associated vehicles
• Use appropriate PPE and follow safety procedures to minimize risk to self and others
• Conduct site inspections and collect samples as required
• Maintain accurate manifests, logs, and regulatory documentation
• Assist with loading, unloading, and staging hazardous waste for transport
• Communicate with supervisors and team members on job status, hazards, and safety concerns
