Lead Cook

Prepare and cook food using standardized recipes and production guidelines while maintaining food safety, sanitation and proper storage. Set up workstations, operate kitchen equipment, portion and present dishes, and help schedule, assign and guide staff in a school food-service setting.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and assign daily work activities, and supervise task completion.
• Train and guide staff on cooking methods, job duties, food safety and sanitation.
• Prepare and cook food using standard recipes and production guidelines.
• Set up workstations, prepare ingredients and operate kitchen equipment safely.
• Portion and present food, and store it according to food safety procedures.
• Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment and utensils.
