Applications Development Manager

Sherwin-Williams seeks an Applications Development Manager to lead R&D for innovative industrial and manufacturing coatings. You will manage a lab team, guide formulation and application development, and translate customer and market needs into scalable, high-performance solutions. Partner with operations, sales, and manufacturing to commercialize products, improve processes, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities

• Lead R&D applications development projects for industrial and manufacturing coatings
• Manage and mentor an applications lab team to deliver high-quality technical results
• Translate customer and market needs into new or improved coating solutions
• Design, execute, and analyze lab testing programs to validate performance
• Collaborate with operations, manufacturing, and sales on product scale-up and commercialization
• Ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance in all lab activities
• Optimize application processes and troubleshoot customer technical issues
• Document and communicate technical findings and recommendations to stakeholders
• Support training and technical guidance for internal teams and key customers
