Pre-Lifeguard

Join The YMCA as a Pre-Lifeguard and support a safe, positive experience for all swimmers. Working alongside certified lifeguards, you'll help monitor pool activity, reinforce safety rules, and maintain clean, organized pool areas. Responsibilities

• Assist lifeguards with monitoring pool areas and promoting a safe, welcoming environment
• Support enforcement of pool rules and YMCA safety policies under supervision
• Help set up, inspect, and tidy pool decks, equipment, and locker areas
• Observe swimmers and promptly alert certified lifeguards to any concerns or emergencies
• Provide friendly customer service to members and guests, answering basic questions
• Participate in required safety drills, trainings, and staff meetings
• Support youth swim programs and activities as directed by aquatics staff
• Uphold YMCA values of respect, inclusion, and social responsibility in all interactions
