Site Occupational Health and Safety Specialist - Manufacturing

Johnson Controls is seeking a Site Safety Specialist to serve as the Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) for our manufacturing operations. In this role, you will lead daily safety oversight, conduct site inspections, and ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and company safety standards. You will perform hazard assessments, investigate incidents, deliver toolbox talks and safety training, and drive corrective actions. Partnering with operations and project teams, you will promote a strong safety culture, support continuous improvement initiatives, and help ensure a safe, compliant, and productive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) for manufacturing operations
• Conduct regular site safety inspections and audits
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and Johnson Controls safety standards
• Perform job hazard analyses and risk assessments
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses and lead root cause analysis
• Develop and deliver safety training and toolbox talks
• Maintain safety documentation, reports, and regulatory records
• Recommend and track corrective and preventive actions
• Collaborate with operations and project teams to integrate safety into planning and execution
• Promote a proactive, safety-first culture and support continuous improvement initiatives
