Insurance Litigation Counsel

Global Medical Response seeks a Legal Counsel, Insured Litigation to manage and resolve insured and covered claims arising from our nationwide medical transportation and emergency response operations. In this role, you will oversee litigation strategy, work closely with outside counsel and insurers, assess risk and exposure, and support claims teams and business leaders with timely, practical legal advice. You will help ensure compliance with healthcare and insurance regulations while supporting GMR's mission of patient care, safety, and community service in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage insured and covered litigation matters for GMR's medical transportation and emergency response operations
• Develop case strategies and oversee outside counsel, monitoring budgets and outcomes
• Evaluate claims, liability, and exposure; recommend settlement, mediation, or trial strategies
• Provide legal guidance to claims teams and business leaders on insured matters
• Review and negotiate litigation-related agreements, releases, and indemnity provisions
• Ensure compliance with applicable healthcare, insurance, and regulatory requirements
• Prepare and review pleadings, motions, and discovery responses
• Collaborate with risk management to reduce future exposure and improve practices
• Support internal investigations related to insured incidents and claims
• Communicate case status, risks, and recommendations to key stakeholders
