Job Description
Stone Center - Indianapolis is seeking a reliable CDL Class A Driver to deliver natural and manufactured stone products to contractors, builders, and homeowners across Central Indiana. In this hands-on role, you'll handle local and regional routes, perform pre- and post-trip inspections, and safely load, secure, and unload stone using appropriate equipment. You'll work closely with yard and fabrication teams, provide courteous, on-time service at job sites, and follow all DOT and company safety standards. This position offers steady hours, the chance to develop expertise in stone products, and the opportunity to contribute to high-visibility construction and landscaping projects in a stable, growing niche industry.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate CDL Class A trucks for local deliveries of stone products to contractors, builders, and residential customers.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and document findings per DOT and company standards.
- Load, secure, and unload stone materials using appropriate equipment and safe material-handling practices.
- Verify orders, delivery documents, and load accuracy before departure and upon delivery.
- Communicate professionally with customers and site contacts, representing Stone Center - Indianapolis with a service-oriented approach.
- Follow all DOT, safety, and company policies, including hours-of-service and load securement rules.
- Coordinate with dispatch, yard, and fabrication teams to meet delivery schedules and resolve issues.
- Report vehicle maintenance needs, incidents, or delivery challenges promptly to supervision.
- Assist in yard operations as needed, including staging materials and maintaining a clean, safe work area.
