Automation Controls Technician - Manufacturing

Marvin is seeking a Controls Technician to support safe, reliable operation of automated manufacturing equipment for our premium window and door production. In this hands-on role, you will troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and VFDs; perform preventive and corrective maintenance; and help improve equipment performance and uptime. You'll collaborate closely with maintenance, engineering, and production teams in a people-first, safety-focused environment that values craftsmanship, integrity, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair PLC, HMI, sensor, and VFD issues on production equipment
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on automated manufacturing systems
• Read, interpret, and update electrical schematics and control drawings
• Support root cause analysis to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability
• Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and production teams on improvements
• Configure and maintain instrumentation, control devices, and industrial networks
• Follow safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and electrical safety practices
• Document work performed and maintain accurate maintenance and equipment records
