Respiratory Care Practitioner

RWJBarnabas Health seeks a Respiratory Care Practitioner to deliver high-quality respiratory therapy to diverse patient populations. In this role, you will assess, plan, and administer respiratory treatments, manage ventilators, and monitor patient responses in collaboration with physicians and nurses. Responsibilities

• Assess patients and develop respiratory care plans in collaboration with the care team
• Administer respiratory treatments, therapies, and medications as ordered
• Manage and troubleshoot ventilators and other respiratory equipment
• Perform and interpret basic diagnostic tests such as arterial blood gases and pulmonary function screenings
• Monitor, document, and report patient responses using EMR systems
• Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions, treatments, and home care
• Maintain strict adherence to infection control, safety, and regulatory standards
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and contribute to care planning
• Support emergency responses, including rapid response and code situations
• Engage in continuing education and quality improvement initiatives
