Nurse Scientist

Houston Methodist seeks a Nurse Scientist to advance nursing research and evidence-based practice within our leading not-for-profit health system. Responsibilities

• Design, conduct, and oversee clinical and translational nursing research aligned with Houston Methodist priorities
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate evidence-based findings into patient care and practice standards
• Secure IRB approval, ensure regulatory and ethical compliance, and maintain accurate research documentation
• Analyze quantitative and qualitative data, interpret results, and prepare manuscripts and presentations
• Mentor and educate nurses and clinical staff in research methods, evidence-based practice, and quality improvement
• Develop grant proposals and support external and internal funding strategies for nursing research
• Disseminate findings through conferences, publications, and internal education forums
• Support implementation and evaluation of research-informed practice changes to improve patient outcomes
• Partner with academic institutions and internal departments on collaborative research initiatives
• Contribute to a culture of inquiry, innovation, and continuous learning within the nursing department
