Network Engineer IV

Edward Jones seeks a Network Engineer IV to design, implement, and optimize secure, highly available enterprise networks that support our nationwide financial services operations. In this senior role, you will architect and support data center, campus, and cloud connectivity, ensuring performance, resiliency, and compliance for mission-critical trading and advisory platforms. Responsibilities include advanced routing and switching, firewall and VPN configuration, automation and monitoring, incident response, and root-cause analysis. You will mentor junior engineers, collaborate with security and application teams, and help drive network modernization and zero-trust initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Design and architect secure, scalable enterprise network solutions for data centers, branches, and cloud environments
• Configure and maintain routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and load balancers to ensure high availability and performance
• Monitor network health, respond to incidents, and perform root-cause analysis to prevent recurrence
• Implement network automation and configuration management to improve reliability and efficiency
• Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and application teams on network requirements and solutions
• Ensure network designs and changes comply with regulatory, security, and audit requirements for financial services
• Plan and execute network upgrades, migrations, and modernization initiatives, including zero-trust and cloud connectivity
• Develop and maintain network documentation, standards, and best practices
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior network engineers and support staff
• Participate in on-call rotation and provide escalation support for complex network issues
