Job Description
UT Health East Texas seeks a Neonatal Program Coordinator RN to lead education and quality initiatives for neonatal services in Tyler, TX. In this role, you will design, deliver, and evaluate evidence-based clinical education for neonatal nurses; coordinate orientation and competencies; and provide bedside coaching to support safe, high-acuity neonatal care. You will collaborate with neonatologists, nurse leaders, and interdisciplinary teams to improve outcomes, support quality and regulatory compliance, and advance best practices in a collaborative, community-focused, patient-centered environment with strong professional development support.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate neonatal education programs and competencies for nursing staff across the neonatal unit(s)
- Develop, implement, and evaluate evidence-based neonatal clinical education and training materials
- Orient and precept new neonatal nurses, supporting onboarding and clinical skill development
- Monitor compliance with neonatal clinical protocols, patient safety standards, and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with physicians, nurse leaders, and interdisciplinary teams to improve neonatal outcomes
- Track quality indicators and use data to refine education plans and care processes
- Provide bedside clinical coaching in high-acuity neonatal situations as needed
- Organize skills labs, simulations, and in-services on neonatal best practices and new technology
