About the RoleAs Podiatrist Senior Offender Health, you will be required to assess and treat patients within an HMP setting who qualify for Podiatry, determine clinical diagnoses and podiatry treatments indicated, and maintain records as an autonomous practitioner.Your Day to DayKey Responsibilities:To manage own clinical caseload.To maintain professional standards.To comply with all PPH standards, policies, and procedures.ClinicalTo be professional and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of your own work including the management of patients in your care. To ensure a high standard of clinical care for the patients under your management.To interpret and analyse clinical and non-clinical facts to form accurate diagnoses and prognoses in a wide range of highly complex conditions, to recommend the best course of intervention, and to develop comprehensive discharge plans.To represent Premier externally (locally, regionally, and nationally) regarding services provided to patients.To undertake the comprehensive assessment of patients, including those with a complex presentation, using investigative and analytical skills, and to formulate individualised management and treatment plans, using clinical reasoning, and utilising a wide range of treatment skills and options to formulate a specialised programme of care.To accept clinical responsibility for a designated caseload of patients, and to organise this effectively and efficiently with regard to clinical priorities and use of time.To demonstrate highly developed dexterity, coordination, and palpatory senses for assessment and manual treatment of patients.To provide spontaneous and planned advice, teaching, and instruction to patients’ relatives and carers, to promote understanding of the aims of Premier and MSK Podiatry.To provide advice to other Podiatry colleagues and GPs.To provide specialist advice, teaching, and training to other members of the MDT as required.To communicate effectively with patients and carers to maximise rehabilitation potential and to ensure understanding of condition.To assess capacity, gain valid informed consent, and have the ability to work within a legal framework with patients who lack capacity to consent to treatment.To be an active member of the company CPD programme unless exclusions apply in discussion with the Senior Operations Manager.ProfessionalTo maintain own clinical professional development (CPD) by keeping abreast of any new trends and developments and incorporate them as necessary into your work.To be an active member of the CPD training programme by attending and delivering presentations and training sessions and by attending external courses and practising reflective practice.To communicate effectively and work collaboratively with all colleagues to ensure delivery of a coordinated service.To participate in the staff appraisal scheme and Personal Development Plan (PDP).To undertake the measurement and evaluation of your work and current practices through the use of Evidence Based Practice projects, audits, and outcome measures.To demonstrate a sound understanding of Clinical Governance and Risk Management and apply it to work situations.OrganisationalTo be responsible for your area of work, as agreed with the Senior Operations Manager and to plan and organise efficiently and effectively with regard to patient management and use of time.To decide priorities for patient management and ensure that these remain in accordance with best clinical practice.To be responsible for equipment used in carrying out Podiatry duties, and to adhere to company policy, including competence to use equipment.To maintain accurate, comprehensive, and up-to-date documentation, in line with legal and company requirements, and communicate assessment and treatment results to the appropriate bodies in the form of reports and letters.To be actively involved in the monthly collection of appropriate data and statistics.To be aware of Health and Safety aspects of your work and implement any policies which may be required to improve the safety of your work area, including your prompt recording and reporting of accidents to senior staff, and ensuring that equipment use is safe.To comply with company policies and procedures and to be involved in the reviewing and updating as appropriate and to follow the general professional guidelines and standards from the Chartered Society of Podiatry and Department of Health.To undertake any other duties that might be considered appropriate by the Senior Operations Manager.Minimum Requirements:HCPC and SOCAP registered.Evidence of relevant experience within podiatry.Experience with more advanced podiatry such as nail surgery and biomechanics.Benefits:28 days annual leave (plus 3 buy back days).My Totally Rewards (online discount portal).Share save scheme.Opportunities for career development.Employee assistance program.Virtual GP Services – 24/7 GP Appointments. #J-18808-Ljbffr
