Job Description
Quality Assurance Manager or Director of Quality. New-home construction. Miami, on-site. Confidential.
J & J Talent Group recruits construction, quality, and field leadership for homebuilders and residential developers across Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach. We are taking applications now, ahead of a homebuilder quality search we expect to open in Miami in the coming weeks. There is no single open seat behind this posting today. Applying puts you on the short list we call first when it opens, and you'll hear the client's name before you decide anything.
Who this is for
Someone who's done this builder-side. You've walked homes before closing, written the punch list, and stayed on it until the super and the subs closed every item. You might be a QA or QC Manager, a Construction Quality Manager, a Director of Quality or Customer Experience, a Warranty or Customer Care Manager, a Home Delivery Manager, or a Superintendent or Area Construction Manager who's become the person the company trusts to sign off on a home. Warranty and customer care backgrounds are a strong fit, because you've seen what gets missed and what it costs after the keys are handed over.
What the seat will look like
You're the standard. You inspect at the key stages of construction, run the pre-completion and pre-closing walks, and write the punch lists the field works from. You verify the fix before anything closes. You keep the record: photos, reports, checklists, status. You watch for the pattern behind the punch item - the same miss across homes or across a trade - and bring it to construction leadership with a recommendation. You coordinate with the closing team so every home is ready for the buyer walk and the scheduled close. Manager to director level depending on your background: at the director level you'd also set the inspection standards and procedures across communities and build the quality program the field runs on. Not a VP seat, and not entry-level.
What we'll be looking for
Five or more years building new homes for a homebuilder or residential developer, production or semi-custom. Hands-on pre-closing walk and punch-list experience, start to finish. Deep knowledge of residential methods, sequencing, materials, finishes, and workmanship. The eye for the subtle miss. The organization to cover multiple homes and communities at once and the temperament to tell a super or a trade the work isn't right and keep the relationship. South Florida experience is a real plus: HVHZ, Miami-Dade product approvals, block and stucco, impact glazing. Bilingual English and Spanish is a plus. Construction management or inspection software helps.
What happens after you apply
We read every application. If your background fits, Juan or Jess will call you within a week to learn where you are now, what would move you, and what you want to earn. We ask about contact you've had with other builders in the last 12 months to avoid conflicts later. We do not send your resume anywhere without talking to you first and getting your OK. When the search opens, you get the full brief - the company, the seat, the reporting line, and the range - before you decide.
