Job Description
SAAB is seeking a Lead Subcontracts Administrator to manage complex supplier agreements supporting advanced defense and security manufacturing programs. In this role, you will lead the full subcontract lifecycle-from requirements definition and sourcing strategy through negotiation, award, performance management, and closeout. Partnering with engineering, program management, finance, and legal, you will drive cost-effective, compliant solutions that meet schedule, quality, and technical requirements. You will analyze proposals, conduct cost/price analysis, mitigate risk, and monitor supplier performance while ensuring adherence to FAR/DFARS and internal policies in a collaborative, innovation-driven environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead full subcontract lifecycle from requirements definition through closeout for complex manufacturing and defense programs
- Develop sourcing strategies, issue RFPs/RFQs, evaluate proposals, and perform cost and price analysis
- Negotiate terms, conditions, pricing, and schedules to achieve best value while managing risk
- Ensure subcontract compliance with FAR/DFARS, export controls, and internal policies
- Monitor supplier performance against cost, quality, schedule, and technical requirements; drive corrective actions
- Collaborate with engineering, program management, finance, and legal on subcontract strategies and issue resolution
- Prepare, review, and maintain subcontract documentation, modifications, and reports in ERP and contract systems
- Support audits, customer reviews, and internal governance related to subcontracting activities
- Coach junior team members and contribute to continuous improvement of subcontracting processes
- Provide data-driven insights on supplier performance, cost trends, and risk to leadership and program teams
