Brazing and Assembly Technician

Perform metal bonding and assembly operations to produce components that meet quality requirements and customer specifications. Clean and prepare parts, braze and heat-treat components in vacuum and hydrogen furnaces, inspect and leak-test finished work, and complete hand-finishing and packing while following safety and quality procedures.

Responsibilities

• Clean and prepare parts using ultrasonic degreasing equipment, cleaners and acid baths.
• Apply brazing material with a brazing gun or assemble brazing rings and mating parts.
• Operate vacuum and hydrogen furnaces to braze and heat-treat components according to sequence instructions.
• Inspect brazed parts and conduct helium or other specified leak tests.
• Hand-finish, deburr and package components; move materials as needed.
• Maintain production records and a clean, safe work area, and report equipment or material issues.
