Benefits 100% employer-paid individual medical coverage Dental and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Flexible PTO Paid training and advancement opportunities Company-provided tools and PPE Company-paid business travel and lodging Per diem and phone allowance for eligible field employees Job Details Field Controls Specialist - BAS / Automation - Traveling Position Overview: We are seeking a Field Controls Specialist to support building automation and controls projects across the U.S. This is a hands-on field position focused on system startup, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of BAS/DDC and PLC-based systems. This position requires extensive travel (up to 95%). Travel expenses, lodging, and per diem are provided. Responsibilities Perform startup, testing, and commissioning of building automation and control systems. Complete point-to-point checkout of controllers, sensors, equipment, and field devices. Troubleshoot control wiring, communication, networking, and system issues. Work with HVAC equipment including AHUs, VAVs, FCUs, CRAHs, and chilled/hot water systems. Read control drawings, wiring diagrams, sequences of operation, and equipment documentation. Support functional testing and commissioning on large-scale and mission-critical projects. Document test results, deficiencies, and field issues. Coordinate with project teams, contractors, electricians, and other trades. Qualifications Experience or technical training in BAS, HVAC controls, electrical systems, PLC/automation, or a related field. Understanding of low-voltage wiring, controllers, relays, sensors, and basic electrical troubleshooting. Exposure to BAS/DDC or PLC platforms is preferred. Familiarity with BACnet, Modbus, Ethernet/IP, or similar communication protocols is a plus. Ability to read wiring diagrams and controls documentation. Strong troubleshooting and communication skills. Valid driver's license. Willingness and ability to travel extensively.
