Estimator I - Electrical T&D Construction

High Country Line Construction is seeking an Estimator I to support transmission, distribution, and substation projects for utility and energy clients. In this role, you will review plans, specifications, and field data to perform quantity takeoffs and prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, equipment, and materials. You'll help develop competitive bids, solicit vendor and subcontractor pricing, and support pre-bid site reviews. Working closely with project managers and field teams, you'll contribute to safe, constructible solutions that deliver reliable power infrastructure on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed labor, equipment, and material estimates for T&D and substation projects
• Review drawings, specifications, and field data to develop accurate scopes and quantities
• Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes
• Coordinate with project managers and field teams to validate means, methods, and production rates
• Develop cost breakdowns, bid forms, and proposal documents
• Maintain and update historical cost data and productivity rates
• Support pre-bid site visits and constructability reviews
• Assist with schedule and risk assumptions for bids
• Ensure estimates comply with company safety, quality, and utility standards
• Participate in handoff meetings from estimating to project execution
