Job Description

Make an immediate impact in a dynamic educational environment as a Paraprofessional supporting students in a high-needs classroom focused on ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) and DCD (Developmental Cognitive Disabilities). This contract opportunity offers 32.5 hours per week, structured as 6.5-hour days, in a supportive setting near Eden Prairie, MN.

Ideal candidates are dedicated professionals with a genuine interest in special education, ready to assist teachers and students to ensure a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere. You'll be providing essential support in a setting 3+ classroom, empowering students to reach their academic and behavioral goals.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Minimum of two years of college credits from an accredited institution, an associate degree or higher, or a passing score on a recognized academic assessment (such as ParaPro, ParaPathways, or The Master Teacher).
• Must meet the competencies outlined in the approved state competency grid.
• PCA certificate required (or willingness to obtain it training is free and under an hour).
• At least one year of experience working with school-aged children in a professional setting required.
• Preference for candidates with two or more years of direct, school-based paraprofessional experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support students with ASD and DCD in academic, social, and behavioral tasks.
• Work closely with special education teachers to adapt materials and reinforce lesson objectives.
• Assist in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs).
• Foster a nurturing, structured environment tailored to student needs.
• Provide personal care assistance as needed and ensure safety protocols are followed.
