Our client, a leading manufacturing company, is seeking a Controls Automation Engineer to join their team. As a Controls Automation Engineer, you will be part of the Engineering team supporting Manufacturing Operations and Maintenance. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills, and a hands-on troubleshooting mindset which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Controls Automation Engineer - Rockwell
Location: Lenexa, KS
Pay Range: $42.00 - $45.00/hour
What's the Job?- Maintain PLC programs using Rockwell Automation (Allen-Bradley) platforms including ControlLogix, CompactLogix, and MicroLogix.
- Troubleshoot and support HMI/SCADA systems including FactoryTalk View and Ignition.
- Support automation projects through the full lifecycle from concept through installation, startup, and handoff to operations.
- Diagnose and resolve control system, instrumentation, and electrical issues to minimize production downtime.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to optimize throughput, quality, safety, and system performance.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related field.
- 3-5 years of hands-on industrial controls and automation engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong experience with Rockwell Automation/Allen-Bradley PLCs, including ControlLogix, CompactLogix, Studio 5000, and RSLogix 5000.
- Experience with HMI/SCADA systems such as FactoryTalk View, Ignition, or Wonderware.
- Working knowledge of industrial networking protocols, instrumentation, VFDs, servo systems, MCCs, and electrical schematics.
- Competitive pay rate of $42.00-$45.00 per hour based on experience.
