Construction Intern

The H&K Group is seeking a Construction Intern for 2026 to support heavy civil and site development projects across the Mid-Atlantic region. In this hands-on role, you'll assist project managers and field supervisors with daily tasks including measurements, progress tracking, documentation, and safety checks. Learn to read plans, perform basic layout, support quality control, and coordinate with crews and subcontractors. Responsibilities

• Assist project managers and site supervisors with daily construction activities on heavy civil projects
• Perform quantity takeoffs, basic layout, and documentation using plans and specifications
• Support field crews with site inspections, measurements, and progress tracking
• Help monitor safety compliance and maintain clean, organized work areas
• Collect and enter project data, photos, and reports for tracking and documentation
• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams as directed
• Learn to read construction drawings and apply standards in the field
• Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and training sessions
