Operations Manager

Waste Management (WM) seeks a Residential Operations Manager to lead day-to-day collection routes, driver teams, and residential service performance. In this role, you will oversee scheduling, dispatch, safety compliance, and fleet readiness to ensure timely, high-quality service to our communities. You will monitor KPIs, manage budgets, resolve service issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Partner with drivers, technicians, and customer service to maintain a safe, inclusive culture while supporting WM's sustainability and environmental goals.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily residential collection operations, routes, and driver performance
• Ensure strict adherence to WM safety standards and DOT/OSHA regulations
• Develop and manage schedules, dispatch, and staffing plans
• Monitor KPIs, service levels, and route efficiency; implement improvements
• Manage budgets, costs, and resource allocation for assigned area
• Partner with customer service to resolve residential service issues promptly
• Coordinate with maintenance to ensure fleet readiness and minimal downtime
• Train, coach, and evaluate frontline staff to support performance and engagement
• Support and promote WM's sustainability and environmental initiatives
• Foster a culture of safety, integrity, and inclusion across the operations team
