Job Description

Abbott Laboratories seeks a Research Scientist, Product Development to drive innovation in biotechnology and pharmaceutical products. In this role, you will design and execute experiments to develop and optimize medical technologies that improve global health. You will analyze complex data, develop and validate assays, and translate research findings into scalable solutions in collaboration with engineering, clinical, regulatory, and manufacturing teams. Operating in a GLP/GMP-aligned environment, you will contribute to project strategy, mentor junior staff, and stay current with emerging science. Responsibilities

  • Design and execute experimental plans to support new product development and optimization in biotechnology and pharmaceuticals.
  • Analyze, interpret, and document complex data; prepare technical reports, presentations, and publications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, clinical, regulatory, and manufacturing to translate research into scalable products.
  • Develop and validate assays, methods, and models to evaluate product performance and safety.
  • Contribute scientific expertise to project planning, risk assessment, and decision-making for product pipelines.
  • Ensure compliance with GLP/GMP, safety, and regulatory standards in all laboratory activities.
  • Mentor junior scientists and research associates, fostering a collaborative and innovative lab environment.
  • Stay current with scientific literature and competitive landscape to identify new technologies and opportunities.
