MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST

Methodist Health System seeks a Medical Technologist for our Laboratory Services team. In this on-site role, you will perform and validate routine and complex diagnostic testing in chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, and microbiology using advanced analyzers and LIS. You will ensure accurate, timely results, follow CLIA and CAP quality and safety standards, and collaborate closely with physicians and nurses to support patient care. Responsibilities

• Perform and validate routine and specialized laboratory tests in chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, and microbiology.
• Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain automated analyzers and laboratory instruments according to protocols.
• Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and proper documentation of test results in the LIS/EMR systems.
• Adhere to CLIA, CAP, and hospital quality control, safety, and infection prevention standards.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other clinicians to support diagnosis and patient care decisions.
• Participate in proficiency testing, quality improvement initiatives, and procedure updates.
• Collect, label, and process specimens, ensuring proper patient identification and handling.
• Provide guidance to new staff and students on laboratory procedures and workflows.
