Diesel and Heavy Equipment Mechanic - Manufacturing

Lakelands Concrete Products Inc, a family-owned precast concrete manufacturer in Red Creek, NY, is seeking an Equipment & Over-the-Road Mechanic to maintain and repair trucks, trailers, and plant equipment. In this role, you'll diagnose mechanical issues, perform preventative maintenance, and support safe, reliable operation of fleet and production machinery. Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain over-the-road trucks, yard vehicles, and plant equipment used in precast concrete production.
• Perform preventative maintenance on diesel engines, hydraulics, braking systems, suspensions, and electrical components.
• Inspect vehicles and equipment for safety, DOT, and company standards; document findings and completed work.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues in the field and in the shop to minimize downtime and support production schedules.
• Operate shop tools, welders, lifts, and diagnostic equipment safely and efficiently.
• Coordinate with production and dispatch teams to schedule repairs and prioritize critical equipment.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, parts usage, and service logs in compliance with company procedures.
• Follow all safety protocols, PPE requirements, and lockout/tagout procedures in a fast-paced industrial environment.
• Assist with basic fabrication, welding, and modification of equipment as needed for plant operations.
• Support a team-focused environment by collaborating with other mechanics, drivers, and supervisors.
