Psychiatry Registered Nurse

Intermountain Health seeks a compassionate Psychiatry Registered Nurse to provide evidence-based care for patients with behavioral health needs in an inpatient and/or outpatient setting. The RN will complete mental health assessments, administer medications, monitor safety and crisis risks, and collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, and therapists on individualized care plans. Responsibilities include patient and family education, care coordination, de-escalation and crisis intervention, and thorough documentation in the EMR. Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive psychiatric and mental status assessments for assigned patients.
• Administer and monitor psychotropic medications and evaluate patient response.
• Conduct suicide, violence, and safety risk assessments and implement precautions.
• Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation using approved techniques.
• Develop and update individualized care plans in collaboration with the care team.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, and coping strategies.
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the EMR.
• Coordinate care with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and community resources.
• Promote a safe therapeutic milieu and adhere to behavioral health safety standards.
• Participate in quality improvement, staff meetings, and ongoing professional development.
