Job Description
Performance Food Group is seeking a safety-focused CDL A Shuttle Driver to support our wholesale food distribution operations. In this role, you will shuttle trailers and transport food and related products between PFG yards, distribution centers, and customer locations, ensuring on-time, accurate, and damage-free moves. You will conduct thorough pre- and post-trip inspections, follow all DOT and company safety standards, operate equipment such as pallet jacks and lift gates, and maintain detailed logs and delivery documentation. Working in a fast-moving, performance-driven environment, you will collaborate closely with dispatch, warehouse, and routing teams, representing PFG with professionalism on the road. Responsibilities
- Safely operate CDL A shuttle trucks to transport food and related products between distribution centers, yards, and customer locations
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections, reporting any mechanical or safety issues promptly
- Secure, load, and unload pallets or carts using pallet jacks or lift gates while protecting product quality
- Follow all DOT regulations, company safety policies, and local, state, and federal traffic laws
- Maintain accurate driver logs, trip records, and required delivery or transfer documentation
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse, and routing teams to adjust to schedule or route changes
- Provide professional, courteous service to internal and external customers while representing PFG on the road
- Assist with yard moves, trailer positioning, and basic equipment checks in coordination with operations staff
- Support continuous improvement, reporting safety concerns, near misses, or process issues
- Participate in required safety, driving, and equipment training to maintain skills and certifications
