Project Engineer - Utilities & Energy Infrastructure

MasTec is seeking a Project Engineer to support the design, construction, and delivery of critical utility and energy infrastructure across North America. In this role, you will assist with planning, technical review, cost estimating, and field coordination for power delivery, oil and gas, renewables, and communications projects. You will work closely with project managers, superintendents, and field crews to maintain safety, quality, and schedule performance. Responsibilities

• Support planning, design, and execution of utility and energy infrastructure projects for power, oil and gas, renewables, and communications.
• Coordinate with project managers, field crews, and subcontractors to ensure projects meet scope, schedule, safety, and quality standards.
• Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and project documentation.
• Monitor project progress, track quantities, and assist with budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
• Conduct site visits to support construction activities, troubleshoot issues, and verify compliance with engineering standards and regulations.
• Assist with permitting, inspections, and stakeholder communication, including clients and internal teams.
• Apply safety standards and company procedures to all engineering and field activities.
• Identify project risks and support development of mitigation plans and technical solutions.
• Support testing, commissioning, and turnover of completed systems to clients.
• Contribute to continuous improvement, innovation, and knowledge sharing within project teams.
