Design Manager

American Equipment HR LLC (AmQuip Crane Rental) is seeking a Design Manager to lead design planning for crane and lifting solutions on industrial, commercial, and infrastructure projects. In this safety-focused, team-oriented role, you will oversee lift planning, review drawings and calculations, and ensure designs meet structural, safety, and client requirements. You'll coordinate closely with operations, project management, and field teams, manage design standards and documentation, mentor designers, and support bids and proposals while upholding the highest safety and service standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and lift-planning activities for crane and lifting projects
• Review and approve drawings, layouts, and structural calculations
• Ensure all designs meet safety, regulatory, and client requirements
• Coordinate with operations, project managers, and field crews to plan safe lifts
• Develop and maintain design standards, procedures, and documentation
• Support bids, proposals, and technical project reviews
• Mentor and guide designers and engineers on best practices
• Identify and mitigate design-related safety and project risks
