Construction Project Accountant

G A Johnson Construction Inc seeks an Accountant to support our commercial construction projects in Moorhead, MN. In this role, you'll handle day-to-day accounting including job cost tracking, AP/AR, and payroll support for industrial, commercial, and institutional projects. You'll prepare financial statements, WIP reports, and budget-to-actual analyses, working closely with project managers and leadership. Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting for multiple construction projects, including job cost tracking and budget-to-actual reporting
• Process and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable, including subcontractor and vendor invoices
• Prepare monthly financial statements, WIP schedules, and project cost reports for leadership
• Support payroll processing, timecard review, and job cost allocations
• Assist project managers with budgets, forecasts, and change order financial impacts
• Maintain accurate general ledger entries and assist with month-end and year-end close
• Ensure compliance with company policies, contracts, and basic GAAP standards
• Coordinate with project teams, vendors, and clients to resolve billing or payment issues
