Job Description
Amazon Web Services, Inc. seeks a Retro Commissioning Engineer Lead to optimize performance and reliability of critical facilities across the AMER-Central region. In this role, you will lead retro-commissioning efforts for data centers and related infrastructure, analyzing HVAC, electrical, and control system data to identify efficiency, reliability, and resilience improvements. You will define test plans, coordinate on-site execution, and drive corrective actions with engineering, operations, and AWS service teams. You will leverage cloud-based monitoring, develop reports and recommendations, and mentor engineers in a high-ownership, customer-obsessed culture focused on innovation and continuous learning.
Responsibilities
- Lead retro-commissioning projects for AWS data centers and critical facilities in the AMER-Central region
- Analyze HVAC, electrical, and control system performance to identify efficiency and reliability improvements
- Develop commissioning plans, test procedures, and acceptance criteria for systems and upgrades
- Coordinate on-site testing and execution with operations, vendors, and engineering partners
- Leverage cloud-based monitoring and analytics tools to track performance and verify results
- Produce technical reports, recommendations, and business cases for remediation and optimization
- Collaborate with design, operations, and software teams to standardize best practices
- Ensure compliance with safety, reliability, and regulatory requirements for mission-critical environments
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians in commissioning methodologies
- Continuously refine processes using data-driven insights and customer feedback
