Route Delivery Driver Helper

Performance Food Group is seeking a Route Driver Helper to support safe, on-time delivery of food and related products to restaurants, schools, healthcare, and retail customers. Working alongside a Route Driver, you will load and unload trucks, verify orders, operate hand trucks and pallet jacks, and provide professional, customer-focused service at each stop. This physical, fast-paced role follows strict safety and food-handling standards and offers exposure to distribution, logistics, and supply chain operations, with opportunities to grow within PFG's performance-driven, team-oriented culture.

Responsibilities

• Assist route driver with loading, unloading, and delivering food products to customers on scheduled routes
• Verify orders against invoices, help resolve delivery discrepancies, and collect signatures
• Safely operate material handling equipment such as hand trucks and pallet jacks
• Follow all safety, food handling, and DOT guidelines while on routes
• Provide courteous, professional service to restaurant, healthcare, and retail customers
• Help maintain accurate delivery records, logs, and returned product documentation
• Assist with organizing products in the truck to ensure efficient, damage-free delivery
• Communicate delivery issues, delays, and customer feedback to the driver or supervisor
• Support basic vehicle cleanliness checks and secure loads before transit
• Collaborate with the route driver and warehouse staff to improve route efficiency
