Job Description

Bring your expertise and passion for supporting students to an impactful opportunity as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing. In this contract role, you'll play a crucial part in ensuring students have access to the resources and instruction they need to thrive academically and personally.
Key Qualifications:

  • Current or eligible certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
  • Proven experience working with children or adolescents with hearing impairments in educational settings
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and educational teams
  • Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Familiarity with assistive technology and accessible classroom materials
  • Dedication to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized and small group instruction to students with varying degrees of hearing loss
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to adapt curriculum as needed
  • Monitor and assess student progress, documenting and communicating outcomes
  • Participate in IEP meetings, contributing expertise on hearing access and accommodations
  • Offer advocacy and support for students, equipping them with self-advocacy and communication strategies
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay informed on best practices
