Deputy Director Civil Engineer - County Infrastructure

The County of Kittitas (WA) seeks a Deputy Director/County Engineer to lead planning, design, and delivery of critical county infrastructure supporting healthcare and social services. In partnership with Wellness Healthcare Group, this role oversees roads, bridges, and facility access to ensure safe, reliable connectivity to medical and community resources. Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for county infrastructure and capital projects supporting healthcare and community services
• Serve as County Engineer overseeing road, bridge, and facility design, construction, and maintenance
• Ensure regulatory compliance, safety, and environmental standards across all engineering projects
• Coordinate with public health, emergency services, and healthcare partners on access and resilience planning
• Develop and manage budgets, grants, and contracts for infrastructure initiatives
• Supervise, mentor, and evaluate engineering and technical staff
• Use data, modeling, and GIS tools to prioritize infrastructure investments
• Prepare technical reports, plans, and presentations for county leadership and the public
• Lead risk management, asset management, and resiliency planning for county systems
• Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration across departments
